From the former mining site at ZLDR Luchtfabriek, where the mining heritage comes to life, you step straight into the woods and cross the border into Houthalen-Helchteren.
Follow the idyllic Mangelbeek to the center of Helchteren and continue through the military domain to the Kelchterhoef Pond. In summer, you can swim here or rent a kayak.

At Hoeve Mieneke, named after its last resident, you’ll walk literally over the water toward De Bosberg, your destination for the day. Still have energy left?
